Ruth and Her Crafting Journey
Ruth has been working for Team Woolly for just over six months and has loved getting to know all the different products that Woolly sells – the warehouse here is a treasure trove for crafters!
She loves to have a go at all sorts of different crafts but spends most of her time sewing and crocheting, as well as some painting. But she can also be easily persuaded to have a go at macrame, knitting, embroidery or most other crafts.
Ruth’s Passion for Crafting
For Ruth, crafting is about switching off from the world and having time for herself but it’s also a really sociable way to spend time with friends to work on projects together.
Why Chunky Yarn?
The chunkiness of our mammoth yarn means it is great for completing a project really quickly. You can start and finish something in the same day and get that sense of achievement straight away. Another thing Ruth loves about our mammoth chunky yarn is the range of colours – her favourites are the muted tones of the denim, teal and pearl but the blends are really beautiful too. Choosing is the hardest part!
Versatility in Crafting
The great thing about the pompom kits is that it uses the mammoth yarn in a different way – if knitting a whole blankets feels a bit intimidating then making pompoms is a lot more manageable. The pompoms can be made into a garland, wreath or used as individual decorations. Once you start you’ll find it a bit addictive!
The Chunky Yarn Pompom Kit: A Creative Delight
The pom pom kit has everything you need to get started – enough mammoth yarn to make up to 50 tennis ball sized pom poms (great for garlands and wreaths), or if you are feeling ambitious you could have a go at making some giant pom poms (think as big as your head…). They also have full instructions and all the other bits you need.
Easy Steps to Create Fun Pompoms
The best thing about using the mammoth yarn is that it is much quicker and easier than the ‘traditional’ way of making pom poms by wrapping wool around cardboard discs. This kit shows you how to cut short lengths of yarn and then attach them together using a cable tie to make an almost instant ball of fluff!
Ruth’s Recent Project Experience
These pom poms would be a great statement decoration for a party, and are so big, bold and eye-catching. They are also ideal for Christmas decor – garlands, wreaths and table decorations (look out for the greens, creams and reds).
Ruth’s Favourite Pompom Designs
You can choose from multiple different colour ways for this kit but Ruth’s favourite is the bright, cheerful rainbow pack. It would be great for brightening up children’s rooms or garden party decor. The unicorn and creams & greys colourways are a classier choice and there’s also the option of choosing some Christmas colours too.
Engaging a Community of Craft Enthusiasts
The chunky yarn pompom kits would be a great activity for children’s birthday parties, hen dos or just a group of friends getting together for a ‘crafternoon’. Its satisfying for crafters of all levels.
A perfect starting point for anyone wanting to get into yarn craft or someone looking for an instant hit of crafting satisfaction
